October 27, 1940 – January 14, 2014

Blossom O’Toole was the illusion of Frank Adair and was a featured at venues like InCahoots and Metro Complex in Jacksonville, Florida.

Blossom first appeared in 2004.  Jum Hawkins explains:

“The Character BLOSSOM O’TOOLE was created on a whim in 2004. A friend of mine who owned a gay complex night club in Jacksonville, Florida, came to me for advice on his Drag Show. He had a top of the line drag performers and was having trouble making it profitable. I watched and they were all great at their interpretations. My advise was “he needed to inject some comedy”.  Jokingly I said “I could make a ninety year old man with one leg a comedy drag queen “.  He then pointed to my friend FRANK and said “… make Frank a comedy queen”. Two weeks later he was billed as BLOSSOM O’TOOLE “THE OLDEST DRAG IN CAPTIVITY” the rest is history. At first it was, who is that old drag queen winning over the mass following with his campy and sometimes off color numbers. For ten years he became an icon and was loved by his great following not only as BLOSSOM O’TOOLE but also as FRANK a loving character in his own rite.”

Frank sadly passed away on January 14th, 2014.   A celebration of life was held at InCahoots on Sunday, January 26th and at Metro Complex on February 16th.
