Photo by Dennis Driscoll<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">BeBe Zahara Benet is an entertainer currently residing in New York, New York. &nbsp;Originally from Cameroon in West Africa, BeBe has also lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she was featured at the Gay 90&#8217;s. &nbsp;Bebe describes her drag persona as &#8220;a strong and beautiful character illusion created for entertainment and the artistic expression of the feminine&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">It has been reported that BeBe got her start in drag artistry when performing as a male model in Paris, France. &nbsp;There they needed an extra girl to walk the runway and he volunteered. &nbsp;She has described the experience as &#8220;amazing&#8221; and the rest is history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">BeBe was featured on and ultimately won\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ourcommunityroots.com\/?p=130259\">Season 1 of RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/a>\u00a0that premiered on February 2nd, 2009 on Logo.\u00a0After winning, Bebe released her first dance single, &#8220;I&#8217;m the Sh*t&#8221;, \u00a0which entered the charts in November of 2009 and was remixed by such notable remixers as Felix Baumgartner, Ralphi Rosario and Mark Picchiotti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">In May of 2010 BeBe joined Shakir Entertainment and is embarking on a national one woman show called &#8220;Queendom&#8221;
