It opened in 1974, when Helen Jenkins re-branded her bar from the <a href=\"https:\/\/ourcommunityroots.com\/?p=95004\">Robin&#8217;s Nest<\/a>, a lesbian bar that she opened in the late 1960&#8217;s to a gay men&#8217;s club.
