BeBe Zahara Benet is an entertainer currently residing in New York, New York.  Originally from Cameroon in West Africa, BeBe has also lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she was featured at the Gay 90’s.  Bebe describes her drag persona as “a strong and beautiful character illusion created for entertainment and the artistic expression of the feminine”.

It has been reported that BeBe got her start in drag artistry when performing as a male model in Paris, France.  There they needed an extra girl to walk the runway and he volunteered.  She has described the experience as “amazing” and the rest is history.

BeBe was featured on and ultimately won Season 1 of RuPaul’s Drag Race that premiered on February 2nd, 2009 on Logo. After winning, Bebe released her first dance single, “I’m the Sh*t”,  which entered the charts in November of 2009 and was remixed by such notable remixers as Felix Baumgartner, Ralphi Rosario and Mark Picchiotti.

In May of 2010 BeBe joined Shakir Entertainment and is embarking on a national one woman show called “Queendom” that draws on her African roots.  The show debuted in New York City and incorporated “high energy, excitement and many surprises” in the show.
