Corwin Hawkins (aka Amazing Grace) passed in August of 1994, a little more than three and a half months before his feature film debut in Keenen Ivory Wayans’s A Low Down Dirty Shame was released. As an in-drag stand-up comedian, Amazing Grace made multiple appearances on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and BET’s Comic View.
