Kiley Dash-West was stepping down as Miss Gay Metropolitan America 2016 and by the end of the evening Cherry Poppins was crowned the new Miss Gay Metropolitan America 2017. 

Mary Nolan was the reigning Miss Gay Ohio America over the prelim.
