Daddy’s, now closed, was located at 1071 Parsons Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. The venue was the site of the former Garrett’s Saloon and Highball. The soft opening for the bar took place on Saturday, February 15th, 2020. The venue closed in August of 2021.
The official statement announcing the closure was shared via Facebook on August 2d, 2021:
ANNOUNCEMENT: It’s a hard thing to type out but, after this Saturday the 7th, Daddy’s will be closing permanently. We tried our best to stay afloat post-pandemic. Unfortunately, the momentum of what we attempted to build left us still playing catch up. We want to thank everyone that believed in our vision of inclusivity and pushing the limits of what a queer bar could be in Columbus. We made magic. I want to keep this short but bittersweet. Personally, I aimed to create something that wasn’t offered in this city. I hope those that took advantage of the space found a place to feel at home in your expression. That will always be the heartfelt profit. Opening when we did cut us off at the knees. After posting this I will be taking the rest of August away from social media. If you have ordered merch and have not received it, we will be dropping off local orders in the next two weeks or refunding your payments.
